Why Use a Mortgage Broker?
Purchasing a property is an exciting journey, whether it's your first home or an investment. However, navigating the myriad of loan options, interest rates, and lender policies can be overwhelming and time-consuming. That's where I come in.
As your dedicated Mortgage Choice broker, I have access to a diverse panel of over 30 lenders, enabling me to find a loan tailored to your unique circumstances. I handle all the legwork—from sourcing pre-approval and completing paperwork to applying for any government grants or incentives you may be eligible for. Throughout the entire application and settlement process, I provide continuous support and keep you informed every step of the way.
Choosing Mortgage Choice means partnering with Australia's top brokerage. In 2025, Mortgage Choice was ranked number one in The Adviser's Top 25 Brokerages, with 1,078 brokers settling $21.7 billion in residential mortgages and $386 million in commercial loans in FY24. Our total loan book reached $89.2 billion, reflecting our commitment to helping Australians achieve their homeownership goals.
The growing trust in mortgage brokers is evident, with brokers settling 76.8% of all new residential home loans in the March 2025 quarter—the highest market share recorded to date. This trend underscores the value Australians place on expert guidance, personalized service, and the convenience brokers offer.

How much deposit do I need to purchase a property?
Traditionally, most lenders require a deposit of at least 20% of the property's purchase price. If your deposit is less than this, you may need to pay Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI), which can be a significant additional cost.
However, if you're a first home buyer, there are government initiatives designed to help you enter the property market sooner. The First Home Guarantee allows eligible buyers to purchase a home with as little as a 5% deposit, without the need to pay LMI. This scheme is part of the Australian Government's Home Guarantee Scheme and is administered by Housing Australia. It's important to note that eligibility criteria apply, including income and property price caps.
To understand how much you'll need for your next purchase and to explore your eligibility for these schemes, get in touch with me. As your mortgage broker in the New England region, I'm here to guide you through the entire home loan process.
