Shaun Curtis has been a key member of the Mortgage Choice Cheltenham team since 2007. His expertise and dedication have led him to his current role as owner-partner, where he now helps drive the business forward.

Shaun’s journey in property investment began early, with the purchase of his first home at just 19. This experience ignited his passion for property investment, and today he’s widely recognized for his expertise in loan structuring for investors. Shaun’s talent for creating customized financial solutions has made him a trusted advisor for clients looking to build and manage their property portfolios. He also finds great satisfaction in helping first-time homebuyers enter the market, drawing on his own experiences to educate and guide them through what can often be a daunting process.

In addition to his client work, Shaun is valued for his leadership within the business. He effectively manages the Mortgage Choice Cheltenham team, ensuring seamless operations and fostering a supportive environment for both staff and clients.

Outside of work, Shaun is a devoted father of three. His weekends are often spent coaching his children’s sports teams, including football and cricket, showcasing his commitment to family and community. Shaun’s dedication, both professionally and personally, is a testament to his exceptional character and drive.

Rhys joined Mortgage Choice in 2021, bringing with him a unique background from five years in education at a private school on the Mornington Peninsula. His passion for property began with the purchase of his first home in 2020, prompting him to pursue a career change by studying throughout the pandemic. Now, as an experienced mortgage broker, Rhys owns multiple investment properties himself and draws from his personal journey to guide clients through the complexities of the home-buying process. In July 2024, Rhys was thrilled to be announced as a new business partner at Mortgage Choice Cheltenham. 

Having faced his own challenges entering the property market, Rhys is particularly committed to helping first-home buyers understand the preparation needed for a successful home loan application. He has already assisted many young clients in realising their dream of home ownership and finds immense satisfaction in his role.

When he's not working, Rhys enjoys spending time outdoors, whether playing cricket, relaxing at the beach with his partner, or diving into the latest investment property book.

David joined our team here at Mortgage Choice in Cheltenham in 2016 after spending the previous 20 years working at CBA.

This unique combination of work history gives David a great understanding and appreciation of the loan approval process from both sides of the fence. David often calls on this knowledge to benefit his clients.

Over the past few years David has worked with numerous clients who are looking to refinance existing loans. He consistently tracks down an improved home loan option for clients and at the same time strives to make the application process as streamlined and stress free as possible (his open and regular communication style is key to this).

Outside of work, David is a keen and successful property investor who has bought and sold many properties over the years.

He is a family man with a good work-life balance and plenty of patience. When he’s not going into battle for his clients you will most likely find David out fishing or enjoying a game of footy (AFL).

Glenn Mayne is the Loan Writer at Mortgage Choice Cheltenham. He has many years’ experience in Banking and Finance, having worked in both retail and commercial lending and credit. He has brought this experience and his passion for helping clients to the world of Mortgage Choice.

Glenn is an avid property investor and has purchased and developed several properties over the years.

Glenn holds the relevant industry qualifications including a Certificate IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

Outside of work, Glenn and his wife Lisa have 2 children and he enjoys the odd game of golf and keeping fit.

Initially my role is often one of guidance and understanding in what is a very rewarding yet sometimes stressful period. My aim is to alleviate some of those stresses and to make the process as smooth as possible. This is achieved through good planning and communication.

I really thrive on the technical aspects of structuring and creating the right loan for each unique situation, taking in to consideration not only the short term but also long term goals. Craig first came into contact with Mortgage Choice a number of years ago when refinancing his own home loan. Shortly after he accepted an offer from us and took up the challenge to join our team here at Mortgage Choice in Cheltenham.

Up until that point Craig was involved in the accounting field and has since complemented that with years of experience in his role as a mortgage broker with Mortgage Choice. This blend of knowledge and experience ensures he is well equipped to skillfully assist each of his clients with all of their finance needs.

Craig has a particular interest in helping first home buyers and first time property investors to set off on the right foot. He is fully aware of the importance and long-term ramifications of putting the right loan structure in place from the earliest time possible. Part of Craig's service is to sort through and pinpoint the most suitable home loan available for each client from the hundreds of options offered by Mortgage Choice's panel of more than 20 of Australia's biggest banks and lenders.

Craig works closely with many other team members at Mortgage Choice and also our loan progress team, which results in an efficient and professional service for each one of his clients.

Chris joined Mortgage Choice Cheltenham in 2004, quickly building a highly successful career in the industry. He became an owner in the business and established himself as one of the most respected brokers, known for his expertise in loan structuring and outstanding customer service.

With a "client for life" approach, Chris developed deep, lasting relationships with his clients, showing genuine care for their financial well-being and goals. Although he has stepped back from writing loans, Chris continues to stay in regular contact with his clients, ensuring they are well cared for by the brokers he personally trained.

Today, Chris focuses on training and mentoring the team, as well as consulting within the industry, where his knowledge and experience are in high demand.

A true 'man of the people,' Chris enjoys spending his free time with family, on the golf course or fishing with friends.
