From the very beginning, Amber & Jason from telecommunications business Meridian Communications knew that the business was going to move fast and finding someone to help manage their finances correctly was top of the list.

As the business grew, they soon needed to finance several company cars but with all their time being spent on the business, it was hard to find something competitive on their own. Three new trucks & a new Victorian depot
Jason & Amber soon realised that in order to meet clients expanding requirements they needed to purchase three new trucks, for which they engaged Michael to find the right finance. In parallel, through company expansion & the desire to own their own facilities, the team decided to purchase land & build a depot that would specifically meet their needs.
“We handpicked the Cambellfield depot land based on location to major highways and designed the factory and offices with space being the main objective."
With the land purchased and the designs for the new depot complete - it was time to find a competitive construction loan for the depot build. Michael worked closely with Jason, Amber & various partners to organise the finance for the project.
“He really had the finance under control for the whole build," Amber said "so we were able to focus on the day to day operations of our business. A second depot in Queensland
With the new Campbellfield depot in place, Meridian were taking on bigger jobs around Australia. Their interstate operations were flourishing.
Given the business expansion in the Queensland region, Jason & Amber were again keen to move away from rental facilities to owning their own depot located in Brisbane. They knew the difference a local depot could make for interstate operations.
They consulted Michael, who quickly found a competitive commercial loan allowing Meridian to purchase an existing facility. This allowed the Meridian team to focus on building the business quickly, without having to spend time comparing interest rates & calling the bank.
Meridian continues to flourish
Both VIC & QLD depots are now up and running & with the added space and resources, the business continues to grow.
“It’s given us more control over the operations of our business which is great, and cut out a significant need to use third parties. Our team are loving it.”
Each time they require new equipment or vehicles, they ask Michael to organise it for them - allowing them to focus on the business rather than dealing with all the paperwork & chasing their bank.
But, Amber says, she isn’t surprised at Michael & his team’s contribution to the business growth & plans - they purposefully built a team of experts around the business from the beginning.

Jason’s tips for other business owners:
- Know what you want to achieve right off the bat. Focus on one thing at a time and do it well.
- Be prepared to work hard. There certainly are benefits to owning your own business but it takes time and effort to grow a strong business. The sacrifices are worth it.
- Surround yourself with good people. Recognise your strengths and weaknesses and find people who have a specific skill set. Once you find them, look after them!
