Ash is a dedicated mortgage broker with a robust background in corporate finance. Before transitioning to mortgage broking, she honed her expertise as a Financial Controller and Finance and Corporate Service Manager. This extensive experience provides her with a deep understanding of financial intricacies, making her exceptionally skilled at navigating the complexities of securing the right mortgage for her clients.

Ash’s professional journey is driven by a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals. She thrives on offering tailored advice and support, ensuring her clients feel confident and informed throughout the mortgage process. 

In her personal life, Ash is a self-proclaimed dessert enthusiast, often quoting, "There is always room for dessert." Her love for sweet treats is matched only by her passion for travel. Her bucket list is a testament to her adventurous spirit, including ambitions to climb Machu Picchu and embark on a safari in Africa.

I've made a name for myself in the world of finance and entrepreneurship, starting my journey in 2004 with a retail banking role at ANZ in New Zealand. Since then, I've climbed the ladder of success and made a name for myself in the industry.

In 2006, I transferred to ANZ Bank in Australia and took on a supervisory role in retail banking. Then, in 2007, I moved into a mortgage specialist role at ANZ, where I quickly made a name for myself as a top performer.

In 2009, I joined Mortgage Choice in Brisbane City as an employed loan writer, and over the next few years, I worked my way up the ladder, eventually moving into general management in 2011. I proved to be a valuable asset to the company, and in 2015, I transitioned to ownership of Mortgage Choice in Brisbane City, taking over from the previous owner who was retiring.

Since then, I've expanded my business and acquired multiple franchises of Mortgage Choice in Brisbane City, Brisbane North, and soon-to-open Newstead. As the owner of three franchise areas around the Greater Brisbane Region, my business is responsible for the procurement of clients to assist with their home, investment, personal, commercial, and development financing requirements. As a brokerage, we don't lend our own money but arrange loans through 30+ different lenders.

Throughout my ownership period, I've started, acquired, and sold a number of franchises within the Mortgage Choice network, proving my skills as an astute entrepreneur and business operator, with a firm focus on the experience of the customer.

In 2020, I founded The Proper Group Pty Ltd, a boutique property management business focused on using and developing technology solutions to deliver a "high touch experience" while reducing the admin load and enabling agencies to operate with a lean human resource requirement.

And in 2021, I co-founded 4000 Studios, Australia's largest complex of individual recording studios, housing ten permanent artists, three industry-sponsored studios, and a purpose-built podcast suite.

Outside of work, I'm a devoted family man, happily married to my wife Hanna since 2013. We have two children together - Chase, who's almost 14, and Miller (aka "Millie"), who's 6. When I'm not running my businesses or spending time with my family, I enjoy indulging in my passions for motorsport, sports, and Crossfit. I'm also a loyal supporter of the Brisbane Broncos, the local NRL team. All in all, I know how to juggle multiple ventures while still finding time for my personal interests.

Hanna is one of our franchise owners at Mortgage Choice, a role she has passionately occupied since 2015. Hanna's role within our team is to manage a dynamic team, both onshore and offshore, prioritising their well-being above all. With a great eye for detail, Hanna excels in event management and marketing, ensuring seamless operations and execution.

Hanna's superpower is her excellent communication skills. She thrives on engaging with people, listening to their life stories, and learning from their experiences. 

Outside of work, Hanna is a devoted mother to her two children, Miller, 6, and Chase, 14. She shares her home with two rescue cats, showcasing her compassionate nature and love for animals. Hanna also loves attending Crossfit and Pilates classes, finding these workouts as a necessary balance to her busy professional life.

Admin & Marketing Assistant

Lexi McGahan is the Administration and Marketing Assistant at Mortgage Choice Newstead, where she seamlessly combines her passion for creativity and her knack for organisation. In her role, Lexi leverages her creative flair to excel in marketing tasks, bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the table. Her keen eye for detail and structured approach ensures that administrative processes run smoothly, allowing the office to function efficiently.

Outside of her professional life, Lexi is a true culinary enthusiast. She is always on the lookout for the newest and hottest restaurants. This passion for food not only enriches her personal life but also adds a unique perspective to her marketing strategies, particularly when engaging with clients and creating content that resonates with diverse audiences.

Lexi also values quality time with her friends and family, understanding the importance of a strong support network. Her balanced approach to life, combining professional dedication with personal enjoyment, makes her a dynamic and effective member of the Mortgage Choice Newstead team.

Jesica Yap is a highly skilled professional in the field of mortgage support. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and a passion for delivering exceptional service, Jesica plays a vital role in assisting Mortgage Choice clients throughout the loan application process.
